August 29


I am going to try to be a lot better at logging my workouts on the day that I perform them. Today went for a 40 minute mountain bike ride. This was the first time I have ridden with my Hydrapak. Wow is this thing neat! Its the Big Sur and holds 100 oz of water. Local bike shops sell this item for around 75$ + shipping. I was able to pick it up from a closeout deal on Nashbar for 23$ shipped.

August 28 Workout

Traps are still sore from deadlifting workout but got in a good chest and arm workout nonetheless. Tried squeaking out a few dips but they were quite challenging. It was much easier to do dips and pullups when I was weighing in at 183 compared to this years weight of around 205. However, I know that I will be able to do them again in due time. I would rather be hitting personal bests in deadlifts anyway. Deadlifts are the king of all exercises and I attribute my weight gain and growth completely to them (and squats). The goal is to do 400 lb deadlift sets by December.

Also excited to get Camelbak 100 oz water backpack for mountain biking. It looks pretty nifty and I'm sure I'll get to try it out this weekend along with the new bike rack. Time to get back to homework!

Mondays cardio

While I was sore and tired from yesterday, I still managed to get on my mountain bike and tackle some pretty intense hills for around 30 minutes.

Sunday August 26

Today was the first day since the beginning of summer that I performed my favorite lift, the deadlift. The highest I have ever deadlifted was 4 sets of 335 x 5. I was pleasantly surprised to accomplish 300 x 5 on my last set. I could have lifted more but didn't want to hinder my progress since it has been so long since I have last lifted.

I was tired and hungry so my workout was pretty short...However, look for very intensive workouts to begin as my body gets back into the swing of things. Do I hear a 400 lb deadlift set before Christmas?? :-P

Weighed in today at 205. I will post every friday my current weight. Fridays seem to be the best day to weigh because I am usually not holding any water because of my clean eating habits all week.
